Obi One Kimono – Avatar Bizarre is Turning Japanese for 20Twenty

Avatar-Bizarre-Hibari-Kimono-Red

20Twenty is a monthly instore event that starts on the 20th of the month, runs for 20 days, and features exclusive items from 20 designers at 20% off the normal price.  This is a wonderful way to showcase some amazing designers, and Avatar Bizarre is happy to be included in the October edition of 20Twenty!

There is no theme for the event, but I decided it might be fun to make a Japanese kimono for this round.  There will be a couple of new kimonos available at Avatar Bizarre, and they cost 275L each, but the 20Twenty version on sale for 20% off will be the Hibari kimono, which features a pair of sparrows in the branches of a cherry tree.

The kimono comes in six sizes (5 female, and one flat chest femboy size), and includes an unrigged obi bow and a color HUD with several color choices.  It is materials enhanced, and should fit most mesh bodies with their included Alpha HUDS.  In fact, my model, pictured above, is wearing the Maitreya Mesh Body.

Avatar Bizarre Hibari Kimono

If my math is correct, 20% off 275L is roughly 220L.  While the Hibari is on sale, there are two other kimonos available (Ryu and Sakura), which will be full price.  All Kimonos come with their own color HUD.

Kirin to Elaborate?

https://i2.wp.com/grabilla.com/0490e-08b95b95-126a-4a7b-a2b8-0047eefae17b.png

So things and stuff and junk happened.  Blender was summoned from the pits of Hell, the ninth gate was unsealed, and the Learning Curve was unleashed.  After selling my soul, a box of Girl Scout cookies (the Mint ones), and several worthless stocks to the Devil, Blender suddenly felt much easier.  Clothing happened.  Lots of clothing. That’s all well and good, because avatars in Second Life generally like to wear clothes.  Then shoes happened.  There are whole messy hordes of avatars who may be Imelda Marcos in disguise.  Oh, and the wings.  My goodness, the wings!  I’ve reveled in this flood of inspiration lately.

After all, when Inspiration hits, you kind of have to follow it to its bitter end.  Inspiration is like a cat:  It never comes when you call it, but when it wants your attention, God help you if you try to ignore it!

Amidst this flurry of brain activity, an avatar was born.

Meet the Kirin in all its antlered and barbeled glory.

Avatar Bizarre (which is oddly first person) is thrilled to bring to our illustrious Second Life grid a Kirin avatar.  The Kirin, or Qilin, is an omen of good luck and prosperity.  It is called the Chinese Unicorn, though it is usually depicted with two horns.  The Kirin avatar is a delightful bipedal creature with dainty hooves, gilded antlers, and some of the wildest candy corn mane hair you can imagine.

This avatar is fully rigged, and it comes in two flavors:  Male and Female.  Oh, and about nine different colors.  There’s also a demo for the sake of kicking those tires before you buy the car.

Available inworld and on the Marketplace. .

A Taste of Japan – A Short Kimono

https://i1.wp.com/grabilla.com/04615-92eb7eaf-0283-4556-ba38-d36c49939398.png

It’s been a bit too long between blog posts here, but what with one thing and another, things just sort of slipped out of mind.  That’s all changing now, as Avatar Bizarre presents a brand new take on an older design.  In the world of Second Life, there are a lot of possibilities for creating a dynamic and spectacular look for your avatar, because so many designers come up with a plethora of pieces in which to adorn oneself.  As Avatar Bizarre has always been a purveyor of fine traditional clothing, in addition to fantasy, Gothic, historic, and casual clothing, mainly for the male avatar, it was time to reintroduce the short Kimono for men.

Originally made in system layer clothing, with some flexi prims for the bottom of the jacket and the ties on the sash, this outfit has been updated in fine rigged mesh.  Inspired by the short Kimonos from real life men’s fashion, this is 100% original rigged mesh.  The pants and Kimono jacket are separate pieces so they can be worn singly, or together, as you see fit.  There are three alphas provided; one for the pants, one for the jacket, and one to mask both areas of the body to ensure a perfect fit for just about any avatar.  Of course, this outfit comes in the standard male sizes to ensure and even greater fit.

The Kimono comes in eight colors:  Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Teal, Blue, Purple, and White.

So whether you plan to lounge around Second Life in full Hugh Hefner style, or relax after a hard day of showing off your mad Ninja skills, this outfit will be just the thing to add a bit of Japanese inspired awesomeness to your wardrobe.

May fit full sized custom mesh avatars.  Please try the demo first.

Available on the marketplace and inworld.
