“Summer, it turns me upside down
Summer, summer, summer
It’s like a merry go round” – The Cars, Magic

It’s been hot.  Really hot.  I’m not a fan of hot, because if you strip off too many layers in real life and try to go out in public, there’s a very good chance you’ll be arrested.  Luckily, it’s never hot in Second Life.  It’s also never cold.  With that in mind, plus the fact that you can actually go where you want, as long as you have your naughty bits covered in a lot of places, people generally don’t care what you’re wearing.

Then this happened.  Actually, this is an idea that got thrown around on Plurk, and I ran with it.  I’ve never made anything like this before, and don’t generally wear things like this, but what the heck?  It was a fun exercise and now I have Manties.

What could possibly go wrong?  No matter how you look in real life, your avatar is usually made to look dead sexy.  Dead sexy in lacy underpants is even better!

The Mantease is a set of panties for male avatars.  These are Omega appliers, which should work on the majority of mesh avatars available inworld currently, though you might want to check the Omega blog to be sure (Google Omega applier blog and it’s the first hit).  Just for giggles, the system layer underpants have been included in all colors for those still rocking the default Second Life avatar.

I can hear all the “Oh Mys” now.  I’m looking at you, George Takei.

Available inworld and on the Marketplace.

Omega Man

Avatar-Bizarre-Omega-Man

It was time, I thought.  Time to drink the Kool-aid of the mesh body parts revolution, and get a mesh head.  For a while, I kept thinking about how I’d hate to look like everyone else by wearing a mesh head.  To some degree, this may yet be true, because anyone wearing the same skin on a LOGO head may look like an evil twin.

Them’s the breaks.  However, the head had grown on me to the point where taking it off and seeing what’s underneath is quite the shock.

But I digress.  Several days of trying out every male head out there, and being horrified at the sheer number of heads that either made me look like Ron Perlman, or Bruce Willis in an extremely bad mood, plus the vast majority that simply looked as if they’d been squinting at the sun a little too long (seriously, what’s with the squinting little piggy eyes, guys?), I finally chose the LOGO Ethan head.

It does have a few drawbacks, but overall, I’m pretty happy with it.  Of course, the first thing that had to happen, once the skin was applied was to fix the eyes.  LOGO head has a HUD that includes several eye colors, but I wasn’t all that thrilled with any of them, and decided it was time to make my own.

As it happens, LOGO heads are now Omega compatible.  As I make a ton of eyes anyway, it was a simple matter of creating a few HUDs with the eye textures.

For now, there are five sets of Omega eye appliers for the LOGO head (and possibly others, but I can’t vouch for all the heads out there.

The eyes in the picture are the Omega applier Wolf Eyes.  I think there’s probably eight or nine colors on the HUD.  Don’t quote me, because it was late at night when I made the HUDs and it’s kind of early in the morning now.  In any case, all Omega eye applier HUDs are 120L.  Currently, you will find the Saralonde, Honey Glow, Wolf, Deer, and Apophis eyes available inworld and on the Marketplace.

If you have any requests for eyes, let me know.

And now for my next pony trick, I’ll be attempting facial hair.  Wish me luck!

A Fantasy of Fever Dreams – Zaahn Preview

Avatar-Bizarre-Zaahn-VThe lone traveler contemplated his fate.  He had been forcefully sent to a desolate and eerie island, where little made sense.  The carnival was deserted, and little wonder why.  The clown statues littering the grounds appeared sinister and dangerous.  They loomed through the mist, menacing grimaces that must have delighted once, though he doubted it.  He didn’t like clowns.  It was a trust issue; you couldn’t feel safe around a creature with a grin that wide, yet so dark and wretched inside.

Avatar-Bizarre-Zaahn-IIIThe traveler was undaunted by the menacing clown as he attempted a trick he’d learned long ago.  He was surprised to learn he still had the strength for the trick on a stack of chairs.  Still, that clown…  A trickle of cold sweat coursed down the back of his neck.  With a lurch, he tumbled off the chair and rolled away from that clown in haste.  Why are there so many clowns?  Why won’t that incessant creepy laughter die down?

Avatar-Bizarre-Zaahn-IIHe’d had enough.  He left the carnival and wandered the rest of the lonely island till he came upon a dead tree.  “How can I get off this wretched island?” he thought miserably.  “Can’t sleep.  Clowns will eat me.”

Avatar-Bizarre-Zaahn-IVThe Zaahn is Avatar Bizarre’s latest creation.  Available soon at Fantasy Faire, it includes 5 standard sizes, system layer underpants in all colors, an Omega pants applier for mesh bodies, and an alpha.  The boots are available as a separate item, and also include a color HUD with all the color options, and two sizes (male/female).  Everything has been materials enhanced for your viewing pleasure.  Zaahn will be available for men and for women.

Coming soon! Watch this space for landmarks and announcements.

A Little Madness Goes a Long Way

 Grabilla screen capture:

There was a minute there when I was all gung ho about making stuff inspired by Alice in Wonderland.  There was a whole “Lewis Carroll’s Fever Dreams” collection that happened.  In included a lot of partial mesh outfits, as I was learning how to model and rig things for Second Life.

At one point, I probably made three or four different Mad Hatter outfits.  They were all different, but they all had this partial mesh thing in common, except for the original Mad Hatter outfit, which was all system layers and flexi prims.  That one had a couple of versions, as I sought to improve things later on, and was far too reluctant to simply give up on the outfit altogether.

 Grabilla screen capture:

The old system layer outfits can still look pretty good, but with the prevalence of all the zillions of mesh bodies out there, particularly Belleza, SLink, Maitreya, and others, these outfits kind of fell by the wayside, because mesh bodies cannot wear system layers without special applier scripts.

But never fear!  In a frenzy of “Oh hey, we have the technology; we can make it stronger, faster, better…” I acquired the necessary scripts and created some HUDs for mesh body clothing layers.  The nice thing about OMEGA appliers is quite a lot of the mesh bodies out there are compatible.  You only have to go out on the Marketplace and buy the particular relay for whichever body you wear.

You can get a list of all the compatible bodies for OMEGA system here:  http://lovenlustdesigns.blogspot.com/p/supported-meshes.html

In a pique of, “Gotta make it betteritis”, the Mitternacht Hatter coats all got refitted, rerigged, and reuploaded.  In addition, a female version of the coat was also created.  The coat and hat are now on a color HUD, which includes all six colors of each.  The shirt and pants are on the OMEGA applier HUD.  There’s an unrigged turtleneck collar included.  Oh, and things have been materials enhanced for your viewing pleasure.

While the older version of this outfit came with boots, I decided it would be best to leave the boots out of this version, and price it a bit cheaper.  It’s currently available on the Marketplace and Inworld for 375L.

Faun and Games

AB Fallow Faun ThinkingYou know, it’s fauny, but occasionally legs happen.  Initially, Avatar Bizarre had a set of faun legs, with all the colors and gender things sold separately.  They were pretty good and all, but many things do well with some improvements.  Not only did these legs get a complete redesign, but several colors have been added.  Of course, I have always had a thing for purple, so you are about to get an eyeful of purple today.  Be wary, because this is what happens when the braining begins. Avatar Bizarre Fallow Faun Drumming

The Fallow Faun legs, named after the very cool looking Fallow Deer, are lightly spotted like their namesake.  If you’re going for a typical woodlands creature, spots are usually the way to go.  This generally helps you to stay camouflaged, just in case you run into trolls or orcs on the leafy trails.  Most of the time, you’re more likely to end up in a faerie ring, or smack in the middle of an abandoned Eleven drum circle.

Fauns, being of a musical bent, naturally play any instrument left laying around Elven campfires.  Enjoy the rockin’ beat as I play the Elven Bass Drum for you.

Avatar Bizarre Fallow Faun SentryLet’s get down to the nitty gritty, shall we? Here’s what you get for your 275L: One set of male legs One set of female/femboy legs One set of large horns (on the color HUD) One set of smaller black horns Tail – one positioned for the male and one for female SLink and Omega appliers – on the tattoo layer Tattoo layers in all ten colors for the default Second Life avatar Color HUD for legs, tail, and large horns Alpha Lest I forget, there’s a box of Omega HUDs for those of you who wish to be materials enabled.  SLink HUD is materials enabled by default.  There’s also a handy note card explaining all the things. Avatar Bizarre Fallow Faun taiko These can be purchased on the Marketplace and inworld at Avatar Bizarre.  Please try the demo first.

In Recent Gallop Polls – Female Dressage Suit

Avatar-Bizarre-Dressage-for-Women

I had made a Dressage outfit by request some time ago.  It was a partial mesh outfit – really just the rigged coat, plus a hat and cravat.  The rest was all system layer clothing.  At the time, it was only available for male avatars, but as my skill in mesh modeling has grown, so has the selection at Avatar Bizarre.  I was recently asked if I could make a female version of this outfit and, like all so-called “easy” projects, this just sort of spiraled into a major undertaking involving lasers, duct tape, a disused space station, and a fractal black hole.

Not only did the female version happen, but SLink and Omega clothing appliers were added for the system layers, so mesh body enthusiasts can throw on a Dressage outfit.  To make this even more up to date and amazing, the coat is now on a color change HUD and includes all eight colors previously available for this outfit.  What would you pay for such a fine set of Ginsu knives?  Don’t call yet, because there’s more!  The original system layer pants were all black, but matched the suit color via piping down the outside leg.  Each color, plus a plain white pant is included in the SLink and Omega HUDs.  For those die hards who don’t wear mesh bodies, there’s a fine collection of system layer pants (on the underpant layer) in all colors.  The shirt (white) and gloves (black) are on the HUDs and are included as system layers as well.  Completing this set are the unrigged hat and cravat, and coat alpha.

Just to make it even more fun, there are six sizes in the collection, including a flat chested femboy size (for femboys, child avatars, and furries).

Then, because I’m not one to let a project go without fully embracing the improviness of it all, the male version was reuploaded for a better fit on the different male avatar sizes.  Of course the male version got the same treatment as the female version (noted in the previous blog post).

It’s exciting!  You can get this on the Marketplace for now.  Inworld access will happen very soon.

Because it’s fun to include the odd song lyric, have some Echo and the Bunnymen:

“Billy stands all alone
Sinking sand, skin and bone
Bring on the dancing horses
Wherever they may roam
Shiver and say the words
Of every lie you’ve heard” – Echo and the Bunnymen

Hot to Trot – Dressage

Avatar-Bizarre-Dressage-Rearing

If you’re in for a spot of horseback riding, Avatar Bizarre has you covered with this new, improved version of the Dressage outfit.  The original only came in Male, and had system layer pants and shirt.  The new, improved version is also available as Female (which includes a flat chested X Small coat).

Here’s what you get:
– Rigged mesh coat with color HUD (eight colors)- System layer pants (9 colors), plus system layer shirt and gloves
– Pant, shirt, and glove layers on SLink and OMEGA applier HUDs
– Unrigged hat
– Unrigged cravat
– Alpha

The Male version comes in five standard sizes.  The Female version comes in the standard five sizes, plus the flat chested X Small size for femboys, furries, and child avatars.  Try the demo first, though.

Avatar-Bizarre-Dressage---Rest-Stop

This should be released pretty soon.  I just need to finish uploading and scripting the female sizes.

Boots will be sold separately, and will include a color HUD.  They will not only be materials enhanced, but will come with rigged and unrigged boots.
Avatar-Bizarre-Dressage---Hot-to-Trot

When you’re hot to trot, this outfit will be ready and waiting for you in a few days.

Hooves Tripping Through a Field

Avatar-Bizarre-Qilin-LegsThe Qilin – a rare and colorful creature in Chinese folklore. It is often called a Unicorn, but this is somewhat of a misnomer, since most Qilin (Japanese is Kirin) are depicted with two antler-like horns.  They are often associated with vibrant colors, gemstones, and the elements, much like the dragon.  Although the arrival of a Qilin is a good omen, they are said to punish the wicked, as well as foretell the birth of great men.  It has been said that the birth of Confucius was foretold by the great Qilin. The new Qilin legs from Avatar Bizarre are as jeweled and spectacular as any true Qilin.  These are rigged mesh, and fit most avatar shapes, though there is a demo available if you aren’t sure. AB-Qilin-Legs-with-color-HUD

Now for the fun part!
You see that vendor ad?  It explains everything pretty well.  There are appliers for SLink (the underpant layer), and Omega appliers (same deal, only for other mesh bodies).  The color HUD controls the colors of the legs and gem on the horns.

If you don’t have a mesh body (SLink, Matrieya, etc), not to worry.  There are six tattoo layers in the different colors for the default Second Life avatar.  So we’ve got you covered!  Literally.

I did want to mention a couple of things about the new Male SLink Physique Body, which is what you see my avatar wearing in the two images above.

First, it’s really, very nicely done.  There are a lot of bodies out there for folks to try out. Some are more muscled than others, which is great for folks who want to be heavily muscled.  The SLink body is more lithe, slender, and has just enough muscle tone.

Second, the HUD that comes with the SLink body is very detailed, and works really well!  It includes an 80 point alpha HUD, a skin tinter, a Penis (Hah!), and all the bits and bobs you need to make regular mesh clothing fit.

And the clothing does fit!  All you have to do is use the HUD to alpha out the bits that poke through.

Third, the hands and feet (sold separately), no longer have a weird seam between wrist/ankle and the rest of the body.  There’s a head that comes with the body, but I prefer to wear my own head.  The skin maker I prefer has not made appliers as of this blog post, hence the neck seam you see, but I don’t have a whole lot else to complain about.  I’ve heard others saying the pecs are a bit high, but I can live with that.  Because..

Wouldja look at that ass?  Holy carp!

The legs are available on the Marketplace and Inworld.
