All the World’s a Stage

Avatar-Bizarre---Tiziano-Tudor

…And all the men and women merely players.

It’s time to let you all know about a new outfit that has entered Stage Left.  Inspired by Tudor fashions from the Renaissance and beyond, the Tiziano is a fitmesh outfit for male avatars, and includes a color HUD with seven color options.  Its classic Renaissance design is both masculine and attractive, and it’s perfect for a spot of fantasy or Tudor role play.

The doublet and pants combination is materials enhanced.  The unrigged hat is topped with a couple of pheasant feathers.

The outfit includes Omega stocking appliers (all colors), plus system layer socks for those folks who haven’t yet taken a drink from the mesh body Kool-Aid.  The color HUD for the suit gives you seven color options, including white.

The most excellent news is, this outfit is now available on the marketplace and inworld!  So come and get it.

In a World of Pure Imagination

Avatar-Bizarre-Sweet-Tooth

When you have a sweet tooth as rampantly out of control as mine, you tend to revel in all things chocolate, including Willy Wonka. When I first logged into Second Life, one of my friends was even more into the story of Willy Wonka than I am, and that’s saying quite a lot, considering I’ve been known to Cosplay Willy Wonka in real life. In fact, some folks only knew me as “M.W.Wonka” for the longest time.

When I first built Avatar Bizarre in Second Life, one of the initial outfits for sale was The Candy Man, a costume inspired by the Johnny Depp version of Willy Wonka. You know, the really creepy one, as opposed to Gene Wilder’s more frantic, chaotic, mildly sociopathic version. Love them or hate them, these men shaped how we think of the character. Naturally, Second Life needed influence from both.

Avatar-Bizarre-Chocolatier

Flash forward to a bunch of years later, and Second Life’s creation process has mostly ditched the old system layer clothing to favor mesh. Since I’m still a fan of the books and movies, I decided to let them inspire me for a new outfit. Enter The Chocolatier, an ensemble that is loosely based on the Johnny Depp Wonka.

This outfit includes a fit mesh jacket/waistcoat/shirt, a shiny top hat, a peppermint candy neck pin, a cane (with a pose), system pants in six colors, Omega clothing appliers (for those with mesh bodies), and a color HUD for the jacket.

Avatar-Bizarre---Ginger-Buddy

There’s some really good news for folks who are into dressing up: This outfit is also available for women (regular and hourglass shapes), and femboys!

Don’t worry, folks. I got you covered.

Available soon for the Melting Pot event.

A Mighty Megalithic Man – Fantasy Faire Lucentia Tour

Fantasy Faire - Lucentia Region

After wandering through the dark faerie land of Otherworld, I decided to head back to Lucentia for a bit of a rest, and to collect my bearings for the next tour of this fantastic Second Life event.

Lucentia is more subdued than the other regions, but no less spectacular.  It is nestled on a quiet meadow, and is awe-inspiring in its sheer magnitude.  Greek Ionic columns tower mightily above a shimmering lake.  An electrifying giant crystal glimmers just off the water’s edge, inviting you to bask in its dazzling glory.

Wandering Lucentia - A Tour of Fantasy Faire

As I moved away from my resting spot, I flew up to the crystal and was spotted by a Titan.  I’ve seen a couple of these giants moving across the Fairelands, but didn’t get too close…until now.  We ended up on the same walkway, but he was nice enough not to squish me under those gargantuan boots.  Thank you, Mega Man!

Wandering Lucentia - A Tour of Fantasy Faire He is rather a nice fellow, so if you see him wander, say Hello. Wandering Lucentia - A Tour of Fantasy Faire

It’s hard not to feel a bit tiny and insignificant around such large and grandiose buildings.  If you find yourself wandering in Lucentia, definitely hit up some of the wonderful merchants there, and help the fight against cancer!

Now that I’ve gained my bearings, I’m off to the next sim. See you there!

Robin Hood is a well-known and beloved legend.  Everyone knows he robbed from the rich, and gave to the poor, surrounded by his Merry Men.  He spent a lot of time getting the better of the Sheriff of Nottingham, and also managed to get the girl.

A Knight of the Round Table

Avatar Bizarre Gawain for Genre 1
Looking for a nice medieval sim in Second Life when your connection has decided to go back to the 1200 BAUD days is really, really difficult.  Really, it is.  That said, one quagmire lag filled thirty minutes, then a fifteen minute hiatus from the Internet later produced this picture and blog.  You see how dedicated some people can be to this stuff?

The Gawain, named for one of King Arthur’s fine Camelot knights, is the latest outfit from Avatar Bizarre.  It features a color HUD with seven color choices (red, green, teal, blue, purple, black, and white), an Omega pants applier HUD for the various mesh bodies out there (check out the Omega blog for a list of compatible bodies), seven system layer underpants, an alpha, five sizes, and materials.  This is available for women, as well.

This will debut at Genre. As Genre is one of those super awesome shopping events where you can get deep discounts on new things, you can buy this wonderful outfit for 100L, starting March 15.  Once this round of Genre is over, the price goes up.

Oh, and I almost forgot!  In addition to this outfit, there will be a pair of nifty boots at Genre for 99L (regular price is 175:).  These are brand new, made with the Gawain in mind.  They were built to go over system layers or Omega layers.  They may have a little difficulty with mesh pants.

These come with a large and a small rigged pair, along with an unrigged pair, an alpha, and a color HUD.

For more information on Genre, here’s the blog.

Fantastic Planet

Avatar-Bizarre-Martian-Colonist-Uniform-IIAt first, the colonists arrived on Mars as small crews aboard the fleet of rocket ships.  They fled their home world, which was devastated by atomic pollution.  Once properly terraformed, Mars was a popular destination, a new frontier; vast amounts of land for the taking, plenty of room for everyone, except…

They hadn’t counted on Martians getting in their way.  Peaceful though they were, the indigenous people wouldn’t give up their home to the human invasion easily.  Eventually, the conflict became vicious, but who is to say which people would inherit the red sands of Mars.  Men were the aliens, my friends.  But what else could they do?  Earth was no longer inhabitable.  They needed a new home.  It’s simply unfortunate the Martians wouldn’t let us have what they felt was rightfully theirs for the taking…

Avatar-Bizarre-Martian-Colonist-UniformAvatar Bizarre has remade the original Martian Colonist Uniform for female avatars.  Like the male version, this uniform comes in standard sizing, includes a color HUD with seven colors, and is resplendent in opalescent materials shine.  The boots are separate, and also come with a color HUD.  They are unrigged, so you can resize them as needed.

 Grabilla screen capture:
The colors included on the HUD are Red, Green, Teal, Blue, Purple, Black, and White.

The Martian Colonist is available inworld and on the Marketplace.

Boots are also available.

Magic Is In The Air – a Sneak Preview

Avatar-Bizarre-Gaius-Sorcerer-Robes
Gaius was once a powerful sorcerer in the land of Albion, but when Uther outlawed magic, Gaius hid his powers and became the Court Physician.  He was wise beyond his considerable years, and hid his powers; concocting tinctures and potions to heal the sick and wounded with only his knowledge of herbs and fungi.

Avatar Bizarre will soon be releasing the Gaius Robes, a wonderful new outfit that includes the inner garment and an outer robe, both of which are on a color HUD to give you several color combinations!

The female version, the Gaia, will be much the same, only a lot more feminine.

Odyssey Mythica

Avatar-Bizarre-Manticore-Kit
The Manticore was a beast borne of Persian myth and legend.  Its name means “Man eater”, and was also called “Androphagos” by the Greeks.  It was a Sphynx-like creature with a red lion’s body, bat wings, and a large scorpion tail.  It spoke in a trumpeting voice, had three rows of teeth, and sometimes had horns.  No matter how it looked, it was always dangerous, either ripping men apart, or impaling them on its razor sharp tail.

Avatar-Bizarre-Manticore-Bits-II
Twisted Odyssey is a hunt starting on March 1.  It’s a grid-wide hunt with roughly 100 stores involved.  Avatar Bizarre has been a longtime sponsor and co-organizer of the hunt, and this is a sneak preview of the hunt gift, along with the gacha prize.

The Manticore Kit includes the horns, legs, tail, and leg scales.  There are two pairs of rigged legs (small and large for female, femboy, and male avatars), an unrigged tail, and unrigged horns.

The wings are going to be included in a gacha with about a dozen colors.  There will be two rare colors:  Argentum (Silver), and Aurum (Gold).

Avatar-Bizarre-Manticore-Bits

These have all been materials enhanced for your viewing pleasure.

When the time comes, you can find the kit and the gacha at Avatar Bizarre’s inworld location.  The Gacha will cost 25L per pull (Modify, Transfer only).  The Manticore Kit can be found if you look for a gold and black puzzle box.  It will be spinning.  It will be small.  There will be a breadcrumb trail leading right to it if only you discover the Sphynx’s riddles.
